THE PRODUCT IDEA · SEPTEMBER 2026
A private family space to collect what makes someone, them. Start with the everyday stories. Keep the advice, the familiar expressions, and the traditions. And someday, with their permission, talk with an AI persona grounded in the memories they chose to share.
01 · START WHILE YOU’RE HERE
No daunting life-history assignment. Add a favorite photo, answer one gentle question, or record a two-minute story. Family can ask the things they have always wondered. The person sharing their life answers whenever they want.
02 · A FAMILIAR CONNECTION
The birthday wish. The call with Mom every Sunday. Preserve original recordings now; explore disclosed AI conversations later, only with the storyteller’s permission and the recipient’s opt-in.
03 · A BENEFIT FOR THE PEOPLE LEFT BEHIND
$5 / insured / year*
A carrier-sponsored family connection benefit. A useful reason to engage with coverage while alive, and a meaningful resource for loved ones later.
*Working assumption for review; the original target did not specify a billing period. Start with a defined storage allowance and original media. Generated voice needs a pooled allowance or separate funding. This is a hypothesis, not a validated quote.
04 · TRUST IS THE PRODUCT
The storyteller controls permission for persona, voice, video, and eventual posthumous use. A family upload does not grant the right to recreate someone.
THE BUILD DECISION
Rememory’s family media, voice capture, and mobile patterns are useful foundations. Its club-wide equal access is a poor fit for storyteller-controlled consent and release. This is a separate SvelteKit 5 / TypeScript app on Cloudflare Workers, D1, and private R2, with iOS and Android Capacitor projects. Rememory and its unfinished mobile work remain untouched.

ECONOMICS TO VALIDATE
100,000 insured lives at $5/year yields $500,000 in annual revenue. If 10,000 families each use 24 voice minutes a year, an assumed $0.12/minute means $28,800 in annual voice cost.
But weekly 20-minute calls for those same families would cost more than that annual revenue. These are illustrative assumptions, not vendor quotes. Validate usage, storage, support, and lifetime access before a carrier commitment.
FIRST PILOT
90 days. One distribution partner. 250 invited families. Consenting adult storytellers. Begin with original memories and family questions.
Measure first-story completion, storyteller acceptance, question/reply rates, comfort, useful playback, export/deletion reliability, and cost. Add voice after consent, quality, and unit economics pass review.
INTEGRATION REALITY
Apple’s MessageUI provides message composition, not a general Messages-history import. Android restricts SMS access. Export-first is the practical starting point. ElevenLabs voice cloning needs the appropriate consent and verification workflow; its Twilio integration is a path to future opt-in phone calls. Saving videos now does not automatically authorize later animation.
DECISIONS FOR OUR REVIEW
Together Again is the working name; Hi Not Bye remains a possible alternative or campaign line. Neither has trademark clearance. Confirm the $5 billing period, what the base benefit includes, how long access lasts after a policy ends, and who funds that retention. A professional consent/privacy review and verified identities come before a real-family pilot.
